Though known as the repository for the largest public collection of art by Grandma Moses in the world, The Bennington Museum has still more in its permanent collection to merit attention. From the Battle of Bennington history (a Revolutionary War battle), revisited through artifacts, fine art and maps, to Vermont furniture, vintage automobile to pottery and a variety of folk art by noted 19th-century talents, this museum facility offers a fine cultural glimpse of this northern state and early American history. Changing exhibits often feature work by contemporary artists from the region, including Benington students.
