Ski resorts set the scene for the mountains around the town of Killington in winter, though venture to these parts outside of peak season and find also pleasant hiking trails, well-groomed golf greens and a handful of rural attractions.
This is another trail with astounding scenery, although it's a tougher trail than some of the others in its general area. The route is rocky, the road itself is narrow, and you'll drive, partly, within a stream.

From Taylor Park Reservoir
Drive Taylor Ridge Road (also FSR 742) for 17 miles.
Watch for signs for Taylor Pass and turn right, continuing to follow the signs.
