Description

This 1802 home in historic Brandon is the birthplace of the Honorable Stephen. A. Douglas, 19th century statesman. Douglas was born here in 1813. The home is open to the public as a Museum and Visitor Center. Featuring early Brandon history in photos and stories. Special exhibit dedicated to the story of the growth of the anti-slavery movement in this small Vermont town starting in the 1830s. The life of Douglas is also examined. Municipal Restroom. No admission fee
